If I proved God's existence, how would I know that the entity I've proven to exist is the one reported in the Bible?
Post Body

For instance, let's say --- just for the sake of argument --- that I proved that existence belongs to the essence of some being. So, this being exists necessarily. Indeed, for this being to fail to exist would be a contradiction.

In the history of Western philosophy, arguments such as the one mentioned above have been identified as proofs for the existence of God. However, it seems that, insofar as these proofs do prove anything, they don't necessarily support anything to do with Christianity or the Bible.

So, it is possible that God does exist, but that God has nothing to do the Bible.

If this in fact a possibility, what independent arguments are advanced to show that this being is the one spoken about in the Bible?
