Below is an argument for Sola Fide, in premise premise conclusion format. It is not the most historical one. It is one I find compelling. Catholics, what would you consider the weakest premise and easiest to respond to? Protestants, how would you strengthen this argument or otherwise argue for the same conclusion?
P1: Nothing good happens outside of God.
P2: All good things happen through God.
P3: For the acts of humans to be good, and therefore through
God, the person performing the act must be in God, excluding
occasions where God pulls good consequences from evil acts
such as the selling of Joseph into slavery.
P4: People who have not experienced an initial moment of salvation are not in God.
P5: People who have not experienced an initial moment of salvation are incapable of good works.
C: The initial moment of salvation must occur before the performance of good works, and therefore independently of good works.
