Hi everyone. I used to really be strong in my faith. However, events that happened to me have started to make me doubt if God is really there and if he cares. Hope some of you can help me answer these questions.
So we were created by God because He was lonely and wanted to have a relationship with us? Why? If there are angels already. Why even create imperfect beings? Then we are put on Earth to live an unfair life and suffer and struggle?
They say God knows our past, present and future. He was able to predict that Judas would betray him. If God knows our future then whats the point? We all are pre destined. It would put me more at ease if He didn't know the future.
Why does God allow evil to exist? Why let Hell exist if he can vanquish it? There is so much evil in the world with human trafficking, child pornography, murder, war, etc. I would like to believe that God has the power to stop evil but chooses not to interfere with the affairs of man. If this is the case then we are on our own here on Earth, that is the only logical explanation as God is just and fair. He cannot be helping others and only help a select few.
Christians like to justify that everything that happens in their life has a reason. I know a devout Christian that was raped. They justify it, that if it didn't happen then her testimony would not be as powerful and have brought a lot of unbelievers to Christ. So God allows evil if there is a benefit later on?
A pastor once told me not everything that happens on Earth is God's doing. So it only makes sense that He has no control of what happens on Earth as it would be unfair to intervene at one time then not to interfere the next, thus making prayers asking for things useless. In Heaven he must have complete control i guess.
God wants us to believe in his one and only Son. Why do that if He came to Earth already before? Yes there is evidence but not 21st century evidence, it still has to be spread by word of mouth. Why not just do it again? This time where there will be video evidence or something. Why take so long? Why not do it now tell everyone He exists. Why play the very mysterious route of people having to spread the word, as they say. Yes I know about the second coming. Why set it up this way, why not just be on Earth, or do something that no one in the world will be able to deny his existence. Why does He want faith? Why does the news have to come from someone who passes it on? Why not before we are born everyone already knows about Him since thats what He wants in the first place, for all of us to believe.
It is so unfair to have been born in war torn areas, or extremist countries, also there are so many religions that are peaceful. So does this mean to say they have no chance of going to Heaven? Its not a fair start. The burden of spreading the word falls to Christians? What if they are unable to reach this people? Then they become a lost cause?
When we die, when we are in Heaven what do we do? Just worship all the time? What if some just want to cease to exist? They say you forget everyone you know once you die and are in Heaven or Hell. The punishment also in Hell is too extreme if it were eternity. Just let them cease to exist.
I have problems but I know that there are so many people with a lot more struggles. Which is why I believe my problems are too small for God to care about there are bigger issues He has to address.
I think at the end of the day the Bible was very well written. But it was made for people to have something to follow and believe in. I also dont know why dinosaurs aren't mentioned in the Bible, i am guessing the people who wrote it were not able to discover it at the time. For me in the book of creation it is not mentioned, Christians will ofcourse justify it again by saying it was "animals". But if that were true the Bible shpuld have mentioned that before man, there were these huge dinosaurs. Also if in the beginning God created Adam & Eve, then they must have lived with the dinosaurs, why no mention of that? Also why even put the serpent and test Adam and Eve? Why not remove the serpent in the first place so they will always be in the garden of Eden and we would not have pain and suffering? Why must we all suffer because of their mistake of eating the forbidden fruit? Its all so weird.
These are just a few questions in my head and hope someone can make it make sense. Not some blind follower reason that we should just trust and not question anything.
