Would you agree that at its core, the Christian faith is supposed to be non-violent?
Post Body

Yes I know Christian’s haven’t always been nonviolent, yes I know it’s history, I’m asking if by following Jesus’ character we are supposed to be pacifistic / actively nonviolent.

I ask because I’ve been increasingly disturbed by both Islamic, Jewish, and secular ethics of virtuous violence. If we convince ourselves that there are realistic and ethics excuses for war crimes and conquering (raping women, killing babies, destroying entire civilizations) then I’m not entirely sure how much different we really are.

There is a singular potential exception of Jesus overturning tables in a temple, but there was no record of physical violence, which leads me to believe that all four gospels describe him to be nonviolent, unlike Moses, Muhammad, David, etc.
