First off, I am terribly sorry to bring up yet another LGBT post, but this is a more pointed question!
I’ve been reading from world theologians at seminary and a common thread I read is how sin is relational. For the sake of keeping things focused, let’s stick with worldly relationships. For example- murder, adultery, and robbery are all obvious examples of sin being relational between people. Less obvious are sloth and gluttony. But these still fall under relational sin because, while it looks purely individualistic, it does in fact bleed into often broken or strained relationships. If you live purely for your own desires, you are depriving others of your gifts.
Which brings us to same-sex romance. How is it functionally sinful between people? Obviously same-sex relationships can lead to familial strain, but it isn’t truly a result from the sexual preference at all. instead it’s preconceived notions from those non affirming.
You may or may not believe me, but I’m actually curious to hear arguments I haven’t heard of yet. Please, though, try to keep the arguments in the realm of relational sin, not just what scripture says or how God allegedly feels about it.
