Considering moving to a new church - any advice?
Post Body

TL;DR: I'm thinking about changing churches, would like to hear other people's experiences and advice on the matter.

A little background:

I have attended the same church my entire life (20 years). Basically everything I've done that was church-related was at this church: I was dedicated as a baby, went to Sunday school, was baptized, went on missions trips, participated in Bible studies, etc. I went to college near my home, so I didn't have to find a new church for those years. I've been a member of this church for a little over 5 years and currently I lead a small group for other 20-somethings.

About a year ago I started feeling dissatisfied with my current church. I didn't have any major issues with the church, and I couldn't be sure that it wasn't just me being cranky, so I didn't do anything until last summer, when I started visiting other local churches just to see other ways of doing church.

One of the churches really appealed to me in a number of ways. It was much smaller than my current church (~100 vs ~5000) and I was drawn to the more liturgical structure of worship (new church is Anglican, current is Reformed Baptist). I kept attending the new church occasionally in addition to my current church. I have decided to take the month of December to decide which church to call home.

I was wondering if anyone who has gone through the process of changing churches (or anyone at all) would be willing to give any advice on things to consider, questions to ask, or just share your experience.

Thanks!
