As we all settle down for our Thanksgiving Holiday meal, it's important to remember where the America started. The colonists were not just Anglo-Saxons, but were of many ethnicities. Almost immediately, there was intermarriage with Native Americans and America has been a Miscegenation Nation ever since. There is no purity in our great America linage, as anyone who has done an Ancestry DNA test has discovered. We are truly a melting pot.

And that is where "our purity" lies waiting to be discovered again and again. Unlike any country in the world, there is an acceptance of those of any race, creed, religion, sexual orientation, and any other label that you want to toss into the "Stone Soup" that is our country. Our purity is in our unique ability to put aside all differences and come together in times of trouble. Our purity is in the love we have for God, Family, and Friends. Our purity emanates from Christ as we do all in His name.

My husband is dutifully minding the fire on the smoker preparing our feast. We both lugged out all of our holiday decorations from the garage, and I am busy breaking out the holiday dishes for their first use of the 2022 Holiday Season.

While we think of Thanksgiving as a uniquely American holiday, the tradition has caught on in many countries. And hopefully every country will someday set aside a day to be thankful for everything we have.

So just for today, let's forget about politics, let's forget about public discord, let's put down social media (except for those Thanksgiving wishes) and let's remember just the good things from 2022. And let's look forward to a wonderful holiday season.
