Motives
Post Body

This is a rather simple post to add an element to our dialogs here about why we are all here. We all have motivations. I have my motives and you have yours. And whatever they may be, we some how have to find our way through them and in spite of them to create a common good.

So I am expressing that this subreddit is here to serve the common good, as best we all can and within our own personal belief systems. I state this because the Label of Christian is attached to this subreddit. Despite what each and every one of you believe and practice in terms of doctrine, we all are bound by the Great Commandment.

The Great Commandment or some call the Greatest Commandment appears in three of the Gospels and remembering that there are three different authors and what was said was recounted over and over again, my favorite is expressed in Matthew as it is such a classic lesson taught by the world's greatest teacher...

New International Version, Matthew 22:35-39

One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Contemporary English Version, Matthew 22:35-39

One of them was an expert in the Jewish Law. So he tried to test Jesus by asking, "Teacher, what is the most important commandment in the Law?" Jesus answered: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the first and most important commandment. The second most important commandment is like this one. And it is, "Love others as much as you love yourself."

My belief and my doctrine is that this is the absolute core of what it is to be Christian. I love the Lord and I strive to love others as I would love myself. Most of my motives spring from this crucial ideal.

So the question that I pose to you is, "Why are you here?" What are your motives.

So my motives. The first you might want to know about is why I am motivated to engage in Recreational Sex with others. Note: I never say outside of marriage because we are always together when we do this and always with each other's blessings. So to be honest, I enjoy it. It has served both of us well, we have amazing friends, and amazing adventures.

So what is my motive here, posting in this subreddit? To be honest, sometimes I don't know. I would like to say I an defending this way of life, but that is self serving. I would like to say I am here to educate, but who am to teach anyone anything about being Christian.

So perhaps my motivation is to share not one journey but many journeys with you. And to enjoy hearing, learning, witnessing your journeys.

While these topics are sexual in nature, we all have so much to share. And before I leave this topic, that doesn't imply you should share your X-rated action photos. That would be showing off.

The topic here is Christian Swinging, which I define more as recreational sex. But we can share anything. Feelings, hopes, dreams, fears and doubts. This is our community. It is our tribe. This weekend I got a new puppy, an Australian Sheppard, within two hours of arriving, he got into my panty drawer and ate close to $100 worth of Victoria's Secret.

Good post! I know you understand this, but it still is good to say it from time to time. You are perfectly made, and God made you in his image. God gave man so much including the ability to create and express free will. I hope that you no longer "beat yourself up" over any of this. Because it is counter to what is positive in our lives. Thank you for the post.

Good comments - upvote... we owe everything to God.

For us, the lifestyle replaced our Saturday Night Mom & Dad date night which was most commonly dinner and a movie, to dinner and a naughty.

So you uncovered an interesting point. When you have a Doctrine in a Church and you are following it, the answers are embedded in the doctrine. Is it right or wrong to do this or that?

The reason this topic is so difficult is that there is no doctrine to support it. And it is all about doctrine. There were doctrines that supported women as property, slavery, and racism. There are still doctrines, especially in some non-Christian faiths that still incorporate these themes.

How a doctrine comes about is that a community comes together and begins to agree on a consistent set of beliefs. That's much easier said than done. Doctrine is a very messy process to complete. But perhaps someday...
