I grew up Catholic so the Lenten Season takes me on a very spiritual journey. It starts with the end of Mardi Gras, a season of Hedonistic partying (though last Saturday night, a few days past Fat Tuesday, was a spectacle of naughty behavior) followed by Fat Tuesday and Ash Wednesday.
This week I will attend Lent Services, I will be giving up meat (except fish) this year for Lent.
This is the time of year when I am my husband spend time reflecting on our lives. Where we are with careers and family, discussions about business and what to do next and of course, what are we doing in the lifestyle. Is the lifestyle still what we want to do? Is it a distraction or an enhancement of our lives?
It becomes a bit of a "reset" button time period for us.
So this message to all of you is an opportunity to talk about our spiritual journey's, our relationship with Christ, and what path we will take in this lifestyle.
Will this be the year you decide to swap? Will this be the year to back away from the lifestyle? What new adventures you want to go on? Is there something new you want to try? Where will you be next year in the lifestyle when the Mardi Gras parades and parties begin again...
Kisses! TMW
Sometimes we miss the purpose of why we give something up for Lent. I always give up something that is party of my everyday life that becomes a trigger to remind me to remember how Christ suffered and died for our sins. This year I am giving up meat (except for fish), so every meal I will remember why I celebrate Lent.
As for many of the other things, including your ethics in the lifestyle, that is what I expect from Christians in the lifestyle. And remember, Christ gave us the Great Commandment and the Great Commission to spread his message of salvation. It's not about coveting, sure that is a sin, I caught myself coveting a very sex pair of boots that I would love to wear that a very sex lady had on last Saturday night. We are human, we are flawed and Christ loves us anyway.
