If there is no marrying or giving in marriage in heaven, what does that mean for sex in heaven, and possible implications for the here and now?

Matt 22:30 and Mark 12:25 ISV - When people rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like the angels in heaven.

Monogamy ? Polyamory ? Celibacy ? ENM ? No marriage in heaven, but possibly marriage in the earth made new?

I love my husband and we know we are blessed in that we have a "complete" life together. We have been enjoying that box of chocolate that Forest Gump referred to. I love a good mystery and God has presented it to us in that we know Christ is preparing a place for us, that we will reside there with him, it all of our needs and wants will be met, BUT beyond that we don't really know much?

A big assumption on my part is that with God being a loving being, that love will still be a part of our new life in Heaven.

This is a hotly debated topic. I hope that there is an option for marriage in heaven, as I would love to continue my relationship with my husband.

God created sex and blessed us with it, not just as a means to procreate, though that is a VERY important reason for sex. But also as a source of pleasure, specifically between a husband and wife.

Technically, the Bible provides limited information about marriage in heaven. The primary passage that is often referenced in discussions about this topic is in the New Testament, in the Gospel of Matthew. In Matthew 22:30 (New International Version), Jesus says:

"At the resurrection, people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven." Matthew 22:30.

Jesus sets the expectation that we, as Christians shall become angels or something similar to angels. (it says "like the angels").

While this verse indicates that traditional marriage may not exist in heaven, it does not provide detailed information about the nature of relationships in the afterlife. So we may be able to maintain our relationships with our spouse, children, parents, grandparents, friends and treasured relatives. Some interpret this passage to mean that the close, loving relationships between individuals will persist, but they won't be defined by marriage as we understand it on Earth.

In the end, we will all know. What will God introduce to his new Angels or "Like Angels" that He transforms us into.

Now, everyone will point out the very interesting passage of Genesis 6:1-4. Most of you know the original NIV translation, and you know I am partial to the more modern and in my opinion better researched translations. So from the NET Bible...

NET Bible

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days (and also after this) when the sons of God were having sexual relations with the daughters of humankind, who gave birth to their children. They were the mighty heroes of old, the famous men.

Where the sons of God had sexual relations with the daughters of humankind. I would say that the scale my be tipped and that as Angels we may still be sexual beings in Heaven!
