Picking single guys at the bar or club

We are a married couple (I am the wife) and have done full swaps with couples and also played with single people. Sometimes we pick guys at bar and play in the hotels. The first time we did it when a guy stood us up and we ended up talking to another guy we met at a bar.
Its hard to know much about the guys who we just start to talk. For some its the first time with a couple and some perform well and some don’t. We also found after playing that one of the guy had a girlfriend.
Do you ever pick guys? Do you ask questions or just go with the flow? How do you make sure they are clean?
