This isn't directly on the topic of Christian Sexuality, but someone posted a direct message that said something so profound I wanted to share it.
So I hope I do not upset ProfessionalRoof3591 by repost what he wrote in a dialog via Direct Message to me. It is...
"It wasn’t until later in Christianity’s development that the idea of the Trinity was penned and accepted. But it seems like once that happened Jesus became the point person and God got benched."
I include some the entire section of dialog to provide context.
This can go a lot of different places; What is the Hierarchy in Heaven? What is our place in it? God clearly wanted us to succeed because He sent Christ to us, mankind killed Him, He arose from the Dead, and proceeded to live amongst us for a bit longer before he ascended into heaven to prepare a place for us and to be our representative before God and the Heavenly host.
God wasn't benched. Though I fully understand the logic behind what you wrote, I would propose that instead, God provided us with a representative, a shepherd for His flock, a Rabbi to teach and prepare us for whatever God has in store for us. Christ became the focal point because he was sent to guide us, to atone for the original sin, and to fulfil a promise to His people Israel.
Thank you so much for messaging me! Hope it was ok that I posted on this.

You raise a very good point. There are two things that I get concerned about. Too literal of a translation or interpretation, and adherence to doctrine like it was the dogma of the church. In the end, we really won't know what all of God's intentions are for us, or what Christ's overarching goals for his Church are, until Christ's return. Then we will know. And I believe that our God is a loving and merciful God who will forgive us for the things we get wrong. While it is my goal to have a deeper understanding of Christ, His works, His message, His commandment and commission, I think we are sometimes unrealistic about what we can and cannot understand. God is all powerful. All knowing. I don't know about most, but I don't think I can comprehend what this means. What would it be like to have all of the knowledge of the universe?
Thank you for posting!

I agree with you, I should have been more clear as Christ is the Son of God.
To be honest, and having grown up Catholic and having memorized the Nicene Creed and Apostles' Creed, I have not been able to reconcile the mysticism of the Trinity. I accept it but for me, with a limited understanding of the topic, it seems to muddy the water.
I am a much bigger fan of the Apostles' creed which according to the early Christian tradition, each of the 12 Apostles contributed to the creed as inspired by the Holy Spirit.
