My Friend told me that he dose not believe in God

Recently my friend bluntly told me that he doesn't belive in God. His reasoning is that "it is too good to be true"/"religion has a common goal"/"that it is a copeing mechanism". He also talked about how in Buddhism if enough people belive in something it becomes true. I am a little heart broken and don't know what to do to help him. Please I need some guidance.
