I feel kind of stupid for asking this.
I recently heard someone say something to the effect of āyou pray like itās already been doneā.
For instance if you are praying for healingā¦. Then you thank the Lord for healing you, not like āoh Lord, Iām praying to you to heal meā or āLord please heal meā.
A family member of mine needs healing badly, and I just donāt know what to do.
Have I been praying incorrectly my whole life?
To my memory the Lordās Prayer didnāt contain any kind of request. Iām not trying to be argumentative or contrary here, I just really really want to understand

At the risk of sounding argumentative (Iām not trying to be), are we not supposed to ask for anything when we pray?
