This happened a couple years ago. 8 friends and I went out for happy hour and sat at an outside table. A guy in his late 20s comes up to the railing separating restaurant from street and starts chatting us up. No, we didn’t see the Phish show that came through weeks ago. Yes, beautiful day here in the mile high city. At some point the conversation stalls and he extends his index finger to the group and counts us up. “1,2,3……can I get like..12 bucks from you guys?” We all laughed, not because of his unfortunate circumstances of asking for change, but the sheer audacity to count us and then decide what a worthy donation would be. When we realized he wasn’t laughing, we get serious again and get out our spare change. It comes to $1.35. He gets super angry and holds the change out for us to see. “money is all that matters to you people!” he scolded us, as he walked towards the next table
