I work in a high end restaurant and the kitchen provides us with dinner before shift every day. They come in a little early and make us a few different things that comprise a main meal. They usually do their best to accommodate dietary restriction, and we have a good few like no gluten and vegan/vegetarian. Sometimes I don't like the meal, but I always am grateful cause it's free and they take time away from prepping to make us something. But I have a few coworkers who always complain about it. They complain if there is no meat, or if there is too little saying the kitchen caters more to the vegetarian/vegans and say "what about what us meat eaters want?" And then they loudly exclaim how they're going to the little shop across the street for some chips and candy bar. I hate it. The kitchen uses high quality ingredients for us and the meals are always nice. As a vegetarian, I don't bitch if there is a meat as the main item, because I'm grateful for the salad and delicious rice/sauce we are also given. But god forbid my coworker doesn't see any steak or chicken or then they're off the rails complaining. It's a free meal for crying out loud!
