Longsword Reach Dilemma?

Post Body

Just wanted to talk about the Longsword here and some things iv come across which I find odd. If I'm missing something here, please share in the comments!

First of I want to say that, I main the Longsword. I think its versatility along with the speed fits my playstyle more. I also tried out the Messer for a while as its apparently the Meta according to various people and youtubers. On my sword swinging journey, I have found some "hiccups" that I would like to discuss.

So in the first 2 pictures I have posted the stats for the Longsword and Messer. Now what gets me is that it says they both have the SAME REACH, which isn't that case at all. The Messer clearly has a longer reach then the Longsword. I have tested this out by using the same weapons on the same map, standing on the exact same spot by using environment pin points and hitting an object in front of me (like a tree or post). The Messer would hit its target, whereas the Longsword wouldn't. I then tested it on a player who is a mate. Did the same thing. he stood still, I stood in the same spot, and the same results.

Now as for the last 2 pictures, these are pictures of the 2 different types of Longswords in the menu (Longsword and Bastard-sword). Now you can clearly see that the Longsword is a bit longer then the Bastard-sword. At first I didn't think much, just thought it was a visual thing. I then bought a Bastard-sword to test it against the Longsword in terms of the reach. Surprisingly, the visual difference actually makes a difference to the reach. Did the same tests, stood in a spot, try to hit the target through Slash, Stab and Overhead. And the longsword would hit its mark, BUT the Bastard-sword didn't! Now I find this one particularly more interesting as their both under the Longsword family so id assume there wouldn't be a difference, but sadly there is. So with that said iv stayed clear from the Bastard-swords, which is disappointing.

Again if I'm missing something, please do correct me!
