The low life that this post is dedicated to probably doesn't read reddit but I need to get a few things off of my chest:

  1. Getting aggressive with minimum wage fast food workers is degenerate behavior. All of the food is made directly in front of you. If you are not happy with what you see, you can ask for more. If you are still not happy, you have the right to express your discontent in a civil manner. You have the right to walk out and not purchase the food. You don't have the right to get angry and aggressive at a teenager making just barely above minimum wage. When you get aggressive, nobody knows what the fuck you are about to do. I've witnessed at least three fights break out at my chipotle which is far more than any other fast food place I've worked at in the past. When you get aggressive, we have to assume the worst and at some point it becomes a low-level form of extortion. Using aggression to get what you want out of a fast food place which employs a bunch of over-worked, under-paid teenagers is a pathetic move. You know what I do when I'm not happy with the service I received at a food place? I don't go there again. If I'm particularly attached to this place and feel like theres a problem employee, I would ask for the general manager and have a talk. What I don't do is get angry at an employee that isn't getting paid enough to deal with your shit.
  2. Rice is cheap, employee labor is not. Chipotle routinely staffs the absolutely bare minimum number of workers for its shifts. When everyone and their mother is asking for twice the amount of rice that is standard, then the rice goes twice as fast. At any given time, we have no more than two people running the grill in the store. One of those people is a manager who usually has better shit to do than help run the grill. Between those two people, we have to wash and cook rice, portion rice into deep third pans, mix and season rice, cook chicken and steak on the grill, cut both meats, mix al-pastor chicken, prepare both kinds of beans, shred carnitas and barbacoa, and cook fajita veggies. On a bad day we are also having to run our own dishes. When I was working grill. I can only remember a handful of times where I had even a second of downtime. So when customers routinely ask for more food than is standard, it makes it more difficult to keep up with demand. Sometimes we run out of food because we simply weren't able to keep up. In a perfect world, the general manager would allocate more labor to the shift and staff another person to help out on grill. Unfortunately, Chipotle is extremely stingy with managers and labor hours. If my manager were to do that, you bet they would be hearing from the higher-ups.
  3. Harassing low-level employees doesn't do a damn thing. Chipotle is stingy with labor, and they're also very stingy with keeping inventory of their most expensive items. We literally have graphs showing us how the amount of chicken we have deviates from the amount of chicken we SHOULD have based on sales at the register. If we regularly give out more chicken, the graph takes a dip and the higher ups are on our general manager's ass. Then there's more pressure on the employees to give out less food. So no, it doesn't come out of our paycheck, but it does come out of our sanity. Do we capitulate and give in to the customer who feels they are entitled to more food than what everyone else gets, pissing off or screwing our manager as a result? Or do we keep our manager and corporate happy by drawing a line with a customer who might get verbally and physically aggressive with us? Regardless, corporate is happy and making money off of customers like you who refuse to stop coming into this store. If you actually want to make a difference, vote with your wallet.
  4. You're a grown ass man getting angry at teenager over portion sizes at Chipotle. Chipotle is not some sort of public utility. You have hundreds of other options to get food from. You can even choose to cook your own food and save money. If a few extra bits of rice or chicken is enough to send you into a rage, maybe you shouldn't be eating Chipotle. Maybe you should start acting like a fucking man and stop crying and whining like some pathetic child that was dropped on their head as a baby.
