How do I get my employees to stop referring to Carnitas as "chum"?
Post Body

Title. Whenever they are bringing bowls down the line with Carnitas they'll shout "Chum bowl" or double Carnitas as "Chum Bucket". It makes my customers feel really weird. I've already talked to the employees but I don't know where else to go other than further disciplinary action, which I don't want to have to do. Anyone else dealing with this or is it just me?

Comments

How many actual complaints have you really gotten is my first question?

Chipotle employees don't get paid enough. If they're making their low-paying job more bearable, I really don't think you can fault that so long as it isn't outside of SOP, dangerous, or truly offensive.

If you can, lean into the chum schtick. Some art or related quips... You probably can't squash the joke, but leaning in might help customers get in on the laugh, lessening any potential "harm." Or it might just take away the shock value for your staff members and slowly die off.
