I'm a cashier at Chipotle and I often have customers that try to "pay" and then dash before I can even close the check and hand them the receipt. I know I'm supposed to keep my eye on the register to make sure the check closes and the payment goes through, but I have to multitask because I get so many customers that I just naturally move on to the next customer and by them time I see if the payment went through the customer is out the door, or I sometimes yell out to them that the payment didn't go through. So sometimes after these "buy" and dash events, at the end of the day, whatever I didn't close, I have to pay out of pocket. Any advice on what I can do to cut down on making these mistakes or making sure people don't just rush out before paying for their meal?
