How can I help the one left behind?

I lost my mom to cancer back in April. My dad is... wrecked. He seems fine at sometimes, but then just completely breaks at others. My brother and I talk to him every day, work out together, big hugs, eat together. I feel like I can do more, but I don't know what. Does anyone know of anything else I can do? We promised mom that we would take care of each other, and I'm failing to do so.
