So my ex has 70% custody. She makes 35,000 while I make 24,000 working in a restaurant. I bring home about $1,100 every two weeks and I pay exactly half of that directly to her every two weeks. I know this doesn’t factor into it, but the fact that her parents do (and have always) pay all of her bills. Her rent is part of her work compensation so that isn’t factored into her income. This leaves me with about a grand a month for bills/ food etc. it’s pretty straining. I don’t know what to hire a lawyer as that’s just money that could go to my son, but I’m really struggling. Would it be worth my time to request a modification?
