People tell me all the time that the child support system or domestic relations is unfair and the father usually gets treated completely different. Is this always true?
The child support system is unfair in my state. They can only take 20% of the NCPs income. Which is a pittance to contribute when you take in to account that it's usually the CP covering extra costs like sports camps, uniforms, regular outings, co-pays, etc on top of the day to day costs.
It's 20% of the NCPs income. That's 833 a month.
Easy breakdown is as follows: $100 on meals $50 on transport costs $500 on childcare (very low estimate) $100 on sports/camps $20 phone $50 clothes
And those are just for one child. So nah, $800 a month is not a lot of money. The purpose of child support is to keep the child's lifestyle the same as when parents were together.

Didn't need your background story. But thanks for sharing ig.
And again, that 20% is the max for any amount of children. So it is completely insufficient in cases where there are more than 1 child.
And in no reality did the items I listed count as all the costs incurred of raising children.
