Long coughing fits normal for Chi, 5 days post spay?

My Daisy (a year and a half old) got spayed 5 days ago. She coughed the first few days, very lightly. She would only cough a couple of times and then stop, but I read this was normal. She stopped after the second day.

But starting yesterday, Daisy seems to have longer, louder coughing fits that last upwards of two minutes. Every time it happens I rub her throat gently but it doesn’t seem to help.

Nothing in particular seems to bring the cough on and she never coughed like this before. Is this normal or should I call my vet first thing tomorrow?
