I posted on this subreddit a while back to inquire about organizing a vigil and protest for the current war in Gaza. I got some pushback, but I also received a ton of support in my DMs and chats. Through that outreach, I was able to meet some awesome resources and we have banded together to hold at least three upcoming events.

If you’re interested in protesting against the war in Gaza and for a ceasefire, you will be interested in these events!

On Friday, November 3rd, starting at 4:30PM and going on until 7:30, we will be holding a peaceful vigil to commemorate all the innocent lives lost, Palestinian and Israeli, during the conflict. It’s non-denominational, just showing respect for the perpetual victims of every war: the innocent civilians. We will be meeting in Chico Plaza and holding the vigil in front of Town Hall.

On Saturday, November 4th, we will be holding a protest and donation campaign dedicated to help the people of Gaza. We plan on having Arab sweets offered with an encouraged donation, but we will also be rallying for a ceasefire and an end to the suffering. This will be from 2:00PM until at least 5:00PM and anyone is welcome to attend. One of the organizers will be there to answer questions and hold dialogue in good faith. This will also be in front of Town Square.

We have a planning meeting set for this Sunday, October 29th, at 1 Mile for anyone interested in learning more and getting involved in the organizing and management of the event. I will be there!
