Recently divorced looking for friends

Hey so like the title says I’m recently divorced and looking for friends in the area. Most of my friends live an hour away from where I live. I would like to find some regular friends in the McHenry County area to hang out with. Go to bars, stay in whatever. I used to just go wherever my friends are but now I have more time because I don’t always have my kids and would like to fill that time. If you have suggestions on places or things to do to find new friends that would be appreciated too.
