Hey everyone, I was planning an outdoor picnic either Tomorrow or Wednesday, but after seeing the cicada pics on social media im having second thoughts. I was looking at having it at a park in naperville or a bit north of there like west Chicago (the town), but are the Cicadas that bad yet? Would it be unreasonable to look for a place without cicadas? and if so, what are some picnic alternatives in those areas? I was thinking of charcuterie style picnic, but any other outing recs are more than welcome! Thanks y'all
Cicadas like trees and bushes. If you stay in more open areas you might have a few fly past but even if not, they’re not terrible. No bite, won’t swarm to your food like flies, bees, or gnats might do. Just flick them away or pick them up and toss them so they fly away.
