I’ve only been working for a few months in my new job at an accounting firm, but truth be told I hate it, and I’d really hate any job.
Office work is draining, and I can’t help but feel like I’m better suited for domestic life. I’d much rather spend my days taking care of a home, cooking, cleaning, and being there for my family than grinding away in a job that leaves me unfulfilled. Managing a household would give me a sense of purpose. I’m mostly inspired by my own mother, who has done the same my entire life.
I don’t mean to belittle the work of stay-at-home moms (or dads). What they do is incredibly valuable, and I know it’s not easy. I think it would better suite me though.
