I got my Equinox in August last year and ironically enough in August of this year the Sunroof stopped working and we are assuming it stopped working in such a position that it was still open just enough for water to get in and it pooled in the wheel well and ever since we got the water out of the wheel well since September we've had a Mildew smell (and some mold in the back seat that we used a steam vac to get rid of) we've tried multiple odor eliminators from as minor as air fresheners to as strong as odor eliminator smoke bombs and as the smell from those subside the mildew gets stronger again we are to the point we are thinking of trading it in but don't know how much money they'd take off for the smell
