95 xj that i recently bought, everytime i engage or disengage the gas it makes a thumping noise. not sure if that’s a normal xj thing or if i need to replace or fix something
update: engine mounts and u joints look fine. it could be trans mounts as it’s right under the car, but it doesn’t happen when shifting only (8/10 times it happens) when i press the gas or when i release the gas quickly. if i release the gas slowly it won’t do the clunking noise. could this be diff related then? i’d assume its not feeding correctly when engaging and disengaging and that’s why when i go slow it doesn’t make the sound?
