Help with Head gasket leak

Noticed this leak today but it seems pretty significant. Oil along both sides of the head and down both sides of the engine. Had to replace about 1.5 quarts of oil. Any suggestions on what this could be? Just a head gasket leak or could this be stemming from other issues too? Any recommendations on how to check other issues/what to look for when I replace the head gasket. I am fairly new to cars and xjās.
