How hard is a 2wd to 4x4 conversion?

Found a really clean 01 XJ for a good price but it's only a 2wd. Probably why the price is so good..... For the build I want to do on it I would be swapping out axles anyways so I figure all I would need is a trans and transfer case from a 4wd model and new drivelines. Would that be accurate?
