Post Body

Many of you might have seen these giant Snails infesting all over the walls and pretty much everywhere since the rainy seasons started. They've been growing in large numbers over the decades.

This article explains their origins - https://www.thenewsminute.com/article/spotting-giant-african-snails-everywhere-chennai-post-rains-here-s-why-157684

This video talks about how they've even invaded the US, in Florida and talks about how they are dealing with this invasion.

This is actually a very dangerous thing. These are pests that can destroy plants. They've already destroyed the papaya tree in my garden. Imagine what they can do to farmers crops over time as they spread their presence. And as the article says these have no predators here so they grow in uncontrolled numbers. These can spread throughout and destroy crop fields too.

Our authorities need to do something to control their population. Does anyone know if anything is being done about this? I don't see any discussion around tackling this menace.
