For those who missed my initial post, here's a quick recap: A lineman took away the fuse from my dad's clinic because I missed the bill payment. I paid the bill the same day, but they didn't return the fuse.
What happened next:
I registered a grievance about this incident, and they sent me a notice for a hearing scheduled on 28th November. But today, something unexpected happened. (This is from my dad’s perspective, as I wasn’t present.)
Two TNEB jeeps pulled up at the clinic, and around 7–8 officials got out. It felt straight out of a movie scene. A few of them entered the clinic carrying files, documents, and all sorts of papers. According to my dad, they all looked shit scared. To make things more awkward, one of the officials turned out to be my dad's patient.
They asked my dad if his son (me) was [name]. They introduced themselves, apologized for the incident and wrote down their names, designations, and phone numbers, and told my dad to contact them for any future issues.
Here's where it gets dramatic: They kept apologizing and practically begged my dad to ask his son (me) to write a letter so they wouldn't face consequences. But my dad told them he'd discuss it with me first and let them know, just to make them leave for now.
Now I'm not sure what to do.
On one hand, I could escalate this to consumer court for compensation (arguing we were forced to replace the fuse ourselves, which could be framed as affecting the clinic and its patients). On the other hand, seeing all these guys show up and act this way is overwhelming.
What do you guys think I should do? Should I push this further for compensation or let it go?
