I am a druggie who knows only a bit about chemistry, but i am interested in synthesizing my own drugs for fun (and also to know they aren't cut with bad shit) . I went out and gathered a bunch of sassafras root, and turned it into oil using a boiling flask. Now I'm just stuck trying to scour the internet for a way to turn my oil (MDA) to molly (MDMA). Any info would be greatly appreciated and thank you for taking the time to read this :)

Congratulations you now know how to think about theoretically from a purely academic perspective THINK about proper synthesis.
I say this every time it comes up and I'll say it again: Learning how to make drugs is like learning how to make a wedding cake people would pay good money for. Nobody's trying to really hide how to make a wedding cake from you but you will fuck up again and again and again and almost definitively never go anywhere if you don't learn every minor detail and nuance step by painstaking step.
Difference being that in this case the wedding cake will also kill you, people you care about and people with extremely angry and violent relatives if you don't do it right.

Now you have attained the knowledge and practice to start thinking about classic drugs. I suggest starting with Amphetamine and doing that 2-3 times. Get it tested and if there's no random BS in there you can next try your hand at MDMA.
This whole thing will take about 2-3 years to go through but by the end of it you'll know more than some passing parlor tricks.

Got any resources on growing and processing the stuff? Erowid is sparse.
Someone mentioned having a scheme about hydroponic cultivation to of sassafras root in the works but that was 8 months ago.
Right tools for the job. If you have easier access then by all means go the safrole route. People didn't stop using it cause it sucked, people stopped using it because the tap for the magic juice dried up.

If you extract it yourself from one of the plants that have it or extract it from brown camphor oil (this one was something I only very recently rediscovered)
