Post Body

Hi, I really wanna intern at these firms in 2025 but I have no idea how to get a foot in the door, or just for large O&G companies in general.

I maybe wrong but I feel like these firms are like the Nvidia/FAANG companies for CS majors, but for CS they often have coding tests that allow them to demonstrate their capabilities. And I dont think there is an equivalent one for ChemE. They just ask for a resume and a coverletter and nothing else to aid my application.

So I would love it if y'all could share your experience on how you guys were able to receive offers to work at these companies.

Iā€™m working at an O&G company as an automation engineer in a major city.

I graduated a couple years ago with my BS in ChEE, and I think the biggest thing that helped me was brushing up on my resume & interviewing skills, and going to career fairs. Making a good first impression at the career fairs can get you that interview. You should get an internship by your junior year, and then securing a full time position will be much easier. Definitely make connections throughout your college years by going to organization meetings, info sessions, and events, etc
