Plant tour after interview

Hi, I’ve had a few interviews in various industries to be a graduate process engineer. I usually get through the first stage, which is then generally followed by an informal plant tour about a week later. I never seem to know what they are looking for from me during the tour. There was one interview where I flew through the first two stages, everyone that interviewed me really liked me, then the final stage was a plant tour to which they decided that they were going to go with another candidate.

During the tour I show my interest and try to ask some questions about the process and the facility but I feel like interviewers are wanting something else from me? I’m looking for advice on what to do the during the next tour I get
