I grew up in New England but currently live in Portland, OR. And all the cheese in the supermarkets is depressingly dull. Growing up, Hoffman's Super-Sharp was my go-to grilled cheese material, but I find all available cheeses lack any bite whatsoever.
I'm not really a connoisseur, on a low budget, and will only be cooking with it, so while fancier cheeses are good for other purposes, that's not really what I want just now. My goal is a good supplier of suitably sharp cheese (preferably white cheese rather than orange, but that's secondary.)
Can any cheeseeaters help me out?
