Is my wife’s friend interested in me, or am I just overthinking?
Post Body

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking here for a while and decided I could use some advice. I'm a 40-year-old guy, married, with a new baby. My wife is great—she's beautiful but quite vanilla when it comes to sex, and her libido doesn’t quite match mine. We just had a child, and my wife's friend also recently had her baby.

Here's where it gets confusing for me. I think I might be getting some signals from my wife's friend, but I'm not sure if it's real or just my imagination. Let me explain:

Recently, I started going to the gym, and out of the blue, my wife's friend noticed and commented on it, asking if I’d started working out. It seemed a bit unexpected since it wasn’t really something we’d talked about before. Her husband, by the way, is much older—he drinks and smokes a lot. It got me thinking that maybe he’s not able to meet her needs.

Anyway, what I've noticed is that whenever I'm holding my baby, my wife's friend tends to come very close and starts playing with the baby. I get the sense that she touches me more than just casually when she’s interacting with the baby. She’s always really friendly with me, and it seems like there might be some extra interest, but I can't tell if I'm just imagining things.

My question is: How do I figure out if she’s actually interested in me without crossing any lines or coming off as creepy? Are there any subtle ways I can test the waters without risking making things awkward if I'm wrong? I’m looking for ideas and advice on how to navigate this situation.

Thanks!
