Alright this recipe has only 3 ingredients and easy to make (note I’m not good with the measurements so take caution):
a good size oven safe dish (I think the dimensions were 7x12 but use what ever dish you have around but no bowls)
a couple cans of corn (more or less depending on the size of your dish.)
a pound of ground meat (you can use what ever but we always used beef)
mash potatoes (I used powdered when I did it last time but any type works really) (note a simple way I barely remember is get like 5 russets and boil them in a pot of water with milk till tender and mash them up while adding butter and milk (if more is needed)
like a half a stick of butter (though I can’t remember if we used more. Yeah it’s a southern recipe suck it up)
- defrost the meat and begin preparing your mash As you see fit (mash recipe is a little spotty so be warn). Prepare the oven at 350 or 375 (your taste really)
- after the mash is prepared from scratch or more realistically from the bag (make sure you add butter to it). Set it aside for now and begin working on the meat. Now put the meat on the pan/skillet and hack at that thing till it’s all all in piece. Put your seasoning of choices on the meat and begin to brown it on medium heat. Take off heat once browned fully (break the biggest chunk In half to check if done completely)
- open up the cans of corn (you can fill things with water and drain them with the lid 2 or 3 times to get rid of any metal taste) and put them to the side. Now put your meat first in the dish, then the corn and finally the mash. put Some butter on top if needed and put that sucker in the oven till you like what you see (note if bits of it is brown that’s a good thing. The whole thing? You screwed it up). Now enjoy.
