Was watching a recent video about A.I.ās problem with accuracy/fact-checking done by the YouTuber Marques Brownlee.
A point he makes is āfundamentally, the AI doesnāt know if itās telling the truth or not, it does not understand that, itās not part of the model. What weāre seeing is it taking our inputs, and creating outputs based on related words that our most likely to go together. Itās not forming a sentence like humans do, itās generating a new sentenceā¦. Itās not sentient, it doesnāt understand what itās saying, and so itās definitely not fact-checking itselfā.
To those of you who believe in AIās present sentience, what bearing do you think this observation has on your belief? To those of you who donāt believe in AIās present sentience, do you agree with this statement?
