Why do I like Charles over other YouTube musicians?
Post Body

I like Charles over most other YouTube musicians that dive into music theory because I think I see a little bit of myself in him.

As an example, while I like the stuff that Adam Neely puts out - well researched, interesting, etc - I can't relate to him as much as Charles because in my head, I feel like Adam is talking down to me, even though he's absolutely not doing that.

When I watch Charles' vids I feel like I'm just hanging with a buddy, nerding out about key changes; like he's an old friend who I lost contact with after high school, but reconnected with as he was getting noticed, but still is legit excited to hang out after years apart. Could also be that Charles' vids are edited in a way that makes me pay attention (the sudden zoom-in jump cuts, for example - like when he accidentally played E and F in the Sims soundtrack video).

Anyway. Just a random thought I had, please don't feel obligated to confirm my obvious bias.
