Alright so I noticed that I specifically love games where you just have a crap ton of moves at your disposal at all times, whether they're all useful or if some of them are niche, whatever it is, I just like having an absolutely ludicrous amount of options in combat at all times. It's not even just the comboing I care about, I like how all these different attacks can interact with different enemies and bosses in different ways, and a skill that might seem worthless can break certain situations if you know how to use them right. I'll give some examples.
Kingdom Hearts 2:
You have normal attack combos with x
You can interrupt those combos to do other moves with square
You have the normal block and dodge, a different dodge for long distance, an aerial dodge, and a glide
You have six different spells that you can bust out at a second's notice and you aren't limited to having only some of them equipped
You have 5 transformations that you can go into whenever you want (if you have the drive) which completely change your moveset and the way spells work
Summons and Limits
Devil May Cry 3: (specifically with a style switcher)
5 different weapons that all have different movesets
5 different guns which all are good in different scenarios
You can block attacks if you're precise enough and dish out payback using Royal Guard
You can do quick dodges or straight up teleport with Trickster
You have Swordmaster and Gunslinger for adding more moves to all your weapons
With a style switcher mod or on the switch version of the game, you have no equipment limitations at all, you can switch between all these different abilities on a dime for what you need, and the types of things you can do with that freedom are awesome.
Crosscode:
You have melee combos, as well as projectiles that you can spam or charge
An evade you can chain up to 3 of, and a Block and Parry
You have a base mode and 4 different elements you can switch between, not unlike styles in DMC
4 skills you can use at a second's notice, Melee, Ranged, Dashing, and Blocking skills, and you can charge them to completely change the skill in some instances, making it more like 12 skills, with the element switching, you basically have over 50 skills you can bust out whenever you want, there's more than that in the game but you have to choose between some of them in the skill tree.
These are the three games I've played that have had the most expansive moveset, and what do you know they're all in my top 5 games of all time, I'm just looking for more games with huge move lists like that but I can't find any. I tried Final Fantasy 16 but that didn't scratch the itch at all, having only 6 skills and 3 feats equipped at a time is kinda lame ngl. I still need to play Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth, planning on playing those when I have the time, not sure if those will be what I'm looking for though. If anybody knows any more games of this variety I'll definitely appreciate it!
