I'm really not sure how models that massively overhang their base work in game. Having none in my other armies and amazingly not having played against many/rule debates never having come up. With a tank like a gladiator, its all is easy, but huge wings? I'm less sure.
I've not play CD yet, either as them or even against them. How do stupidly wide wings work in game? If say be'lakor is entirely behind a ruin footprint, but the edge of his wing, the very tip, sticks past the footprint as is visible, he can be shot right?
So huge wide wings on a full or primarily melee model, are rather terrible. But does the 6" greater daemon aura extend from the wing or just the base? Obviously LOS works both ways, so wide wings are both good and bad, and its also a plus if the aura extends from all parts of the model.
And turning now - does be'lakor have to pay 2" to pivot on his base as his wings stick out so much? Same for any such model like bloodthirster.
Models which dont have ridiciulously modelled wide wing seem so much easier to use than the mega wide variety.
Any explanaion summary on all this would be very helpful. Seems like hiding models with wide wings is so much more difficult, it will make staging with them much more difficult. Skarbrand seems easier to hide than a bloodthirster.
Hey Foxy, love your in depth questions and comments I’ve seem in this page. How are things going with your CD army? Do you have an army list you’ve been using, any success in games, and how about the new detachments that just came out? Would love to chat with you about this stuff in detail, you seem like a very reliable source of information and discussion. I’m very new to Warhammer in general. Just started about 2-3 months ago and I’m absolutely hooked and addicted. But still such a rookie, this game has so much details and rules, but I’m learning everyday and loving it!

Wow, i appreciate the time and detail you spent on that message! Just awesome information. Would love to pick your brain over a phone call not to be weird hahahah.
What I have so far is: 1680 Points CHARACTERS: Be’lakor Bloodmaster Daemon Prince of Chaos with Wings • Daemonic Allegiance: Khorne Great Unclean One Rendmaster on Blood Throne
BATTLELINE: Bloodletters x 2 Nurglings Plaguebearers
OTHER DATASHEETS: Bloodcrushers Flesh Hounds x2 Skull Cannon (not finding much success with him)
My to buy list is: Bloodthirster Another set of nurglings Another set of Bloodcrushers
Now with new detachments and me learning more, I’m still trying to figure out the best unit mix to use but that’s where I’m at now.
Have played 5 games with my buddy, I’ve lost 2, won 1 and we accepted a tie twice since we ran out of time.
