A loss at Colchester on the last day meant Preston were thrown into the trails of the playoffs. As we all know, Preston don't have the best record in the playoffs. But, this time, the lads pulled through with a historic victory at Wembley over Swindon Town.

Preseason
That brings us to pre-season. A series of low-key events against mostly smaller teams. Nothing majorly exciting but some good run outs nevertheless.
Preseason Games

Transfers
Onto transfers. We saw players come and go in a relatively active transfer season. A large selection of players signed contract extensions, including the one and only Joe Garner.
Players In
Pos | Player | From | Type | Price |
---|---|---|---|---|
Fwd | Jermaine Beckford | Bolton | Permanent | Free |
Mid | Paul Gallagher | Leicester | Permanent | Free |
Fwd | Will Keane | Man United | Loan | N/A |
Def | Greg Cunningham | Bristol City | Permanent | Unknown |
GK | Jordan Pickford | Sunderland | Season Loan | N/A |
The big news of this transfer window is that PNE look set to miss out on United keeper Sam Johnstone who played on loan last season. Having brought in Jordan Pickford at the last minute, the Lilywhites are hoping their backup loanee will have a similar impact as the keeper that proceeded him.

Fixtures 15/16
Being in the Championship certainly throws up a number of great fixtures. Here are my picks. Either Derbies or rivalries or just good teams.
Fixtures to look forward to
Opponent | Home | Away |
---|---|---|
Blackburn | 21 NOV | 02 APR |
Bolton | 31 OCT | 12 MAR |
Brentford | 23 JAN | 19 SEP |
Burnley | 23 APR | 05 DEC |
Hull | 28 DEC | 29 AUG |
Leeds | 07 MAY | 19 DEC |
Middlesbro. | 09 AUG | 09 APR |
QPR | 19 MAR | 07 NOV |
So Leeds at home on the last day? That is tasty!
Seasonal Aspirations
The No.1 objective is not to get relegated. Anything above that will be a bonus. Going to be a very tough start with a visit from Boro., but hopefully we can pick up some points here and there and stay up.
