While checking out at the local Walmart liquor store, I saw 2 bottles of 2006 Dom Perignon behind the counter with a clearance tag in front of them. I couldn't believe that they had these for only $100 and I quickly snatched them both up. Having always wanting to try Dom Perignon but never willing to shell out the full price, I was very excited.
I plan to open one on Christmas when my sister and her family come to visit. The other one I will probably store for a while. As a champagne novice, I only know to keep it out of light and heat. Are there any other tips to preserve it as best as possible? Best timeframe to open a 2006? Other concerns considering it came from a Walmart?
