Mealworms as staple feeder

I have a juvenile panther who’s not very enthusiastic when it comes to hunting, he gets the ones that come to him but the rest find their way into my room. I’m getting a little over chasing them so could I make mealworms his main feeders or are the crickets too important to their diet and growth? If he needs the crickets I’ll suck it up but if I can get away with mealworms I’d much rather do that!
