Lol chin rubs are fine I am not giving him head rubs
No dark coloration almost turning black and also puffing up and mouth gapping those are his relaxed colors he is an ambilobe and has those colors all the time but off course if he were fired up from a male he would be even brighter and puffed out. Trust me I know when he is stressed and pissed he tends to always have the orange colors as he is getting older, I will see how much he will change as he ages then see when fired up.
I agree and each one is a little different the key is to pay attention to them and how they are doing if they seem have no issues and are not stressed you can handle them more. He would be pissed if I stopped taking him out he has a large cage lots of hiding spots, live plants and enjoys his basking but he seems to want more interaction and his personality is beyond curious not the described shy recluse. If anyone try’s to say his enclosure is to small or missing enough branches ect not the case he only wants out as soon as he sees me cause he loves to explore every part of my house.
He seriously is the most chill I have ever encountered as well I have only pissed him off once when I had to mess with his territory and branches he seems to really enjoy coming out of his enclosure and is adventurous not shy at all it is very rare for him to show any signs of stress.
Exactly they do it no matter what he does in his enclosure all day when I am in the room or not just pure instinct
Very true most do not and tend to choose anything but the human. I can not say as to why but he seems to always choose me and definitely knows who I am he seems to like the idea I take him out and hand feed him so he associates that and even seems to always choose interactions with me. We never had a slow get used to each other he was letting me hand feed him when I purchased him.
Thank you very much a boy with panther chameleon it is very distinct by the colors females are still pretty but tend to be pinkish, salmon
Same thing I do try to always make my interactions something he wants and he does the same starts reaching anytime I approach. I have not been able to take him out much basking in the sun due to the rain but he will again once it warms up.

I really got lucky with him, he has had no issues at all why I picked him it was more on temperament than anything else. He was being hand fed on day one and now he is at the point where as soon as I open the cage he comes immediately since he seems to love exploring. I happen to live near a reptile store a few houses down so he goes in with me sometimes and gets some free snacks when I pick up his feeders of dupia roaches, crickets and some supers.
