I tried using a cane for a few days but it didn't really help. So today me and my mom went out and I got a walker. I definitely feel better walking, but I feel a little sad that I have to use one so young. I'm 22, so I thought I'd be able to walk unassisted for a few more years at least. I'm in college, and I'm worried what others will think. I know I shouldn't care, but I always felt a little self conscious, but lately I've been ok. Now that I have a walker, I feel self conscious again. I don't see many young people with walkers, so I feel like I'll be the odd one out.
But I'd rather have a walker and be able to walk with no issues, then to not have a walker and tense up and be nervous walking by myself.
