Treating pit fired surface

Post Body
I have a beloved pit fired piece that is beginning to have its surface “glaze” peel away.
I think it’s partly due to humidity so I’m keeping it in a dry area of the house, but at this rate it’s only a matter of time before it looses its glory.
Does anyone know of any product that can protect the surface long term? Ideally it would be non-shine/ have minimal impact on the color, but I’m open to any options.
Thanks!
